My name is Jack Coburn and this is my personal blog which will hopefully show you why I choose the Aquasana Water Filter to provide good clean wholesome water, protect me and my family’s health and to give me peace of mind.

My story of why I chose the Aquasana Water Filter goes back nearly 4 years. One morning as I ran the cold water faucet (our house was then just connected to the Municipal supply with no filtering) I noticed an unpleasant smell. I asked my wife Ruth to check it and she was of the same opinion.

I called out the Municipal Water guy who checks the water if there is a complaint and he took a sample of the water. About one week later he came back and said there was nothing wrong with the water, he could find no harmful toxins or contaminants.

By this time we had started using bottled water as I didn’t trust the water from the taps. I asked him what was causing the smell but he could give no satisfactory answer! Now I don’t know about you, but if something smells bad then it is bad in my opinion. So we no longer trusted the water to drink and cook.

We decided to buy bottled water from then on and just use the tap water for washing and showering. Washing and showering wasn’t pleasant due to the smell however, so I knew we had to do something long term.

I read everything I could about water filters and filtering and about one year later we finally purchased a water filter system. This wasn’t Aquasana, but I’m not going to say who the manufacturer was, as it could get me in trouble. We ran this for about 9 months and was never very happy with it. We still thought there was a faint smell, the water pressure wasn’t great and the cost of the replacement cartridges was high.

At this point I decided to really investigate the water filter market and started to understand what was really necessary for a good filter system. I also spoke with a neighbour who had fitted an Aquasana water filter (a whole house water filtration system) about 12 months ago. He told me he that he considered the system was of great quality, that the water had good pressure and that he found the system economical to run on an annual basis and the initial price of the installation was low compared with other products he had looked at.

The system arrived quickly, the installation took place without any fuss and the whole system was running within a week. When compared like for like with other manufacturers we found the system to be good value for money. We were delighted with it, the water tasted great, the smell was gone and the water felt lovely to the skin when we had a shower.

We have now been running the installation for nearly 3  years, there has been no problems, the replacement cartridges for the filters arrive on time and are simple to fit. We have found the cost of running the system including electricity and cartridges to be low and a lot, lot less than buying bottled water.
